Fundraising and Charitable Giving

CBRC is a non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) tax status. Our programs are supported primarily by volunteers with the exception of our professional coaching staff. Donations are gratefully accepted at any time. We also host a variety of charitable giving events throughout the year.

Donations to CBRC support all of our programs or can be targeted at specific needs. Our goal in general club fundraising is to apply 100% of donations to equipment needs. From racing shells, oars, and cox boxes, to coaching launches and spare parts, equipment needs for a vibrant rowing club such as ours are a constant challenge. To our donors, we commit that gifts to CBRC directly support our rowing programs and are used for no other purpose.

Two of our specific charitable giving opportunities bear specific mention:

  • Scholarships. At CBRC we are deeply committed to providing a rowing experience to anyone without regard to ability to pay. Scholarship applications are confidentially accepted and welcomed.

  • Boat Naming. Substantial contributions toward boat purchases are a visible and rewarding support opportunity. A new eight-person shell can cost as much as $35 thousand dollars. For donors having the ability to substantially contribute to such purchases, lasting recognition is available through naming opportunities.

Rowing For Donations: The Erg-a-thon October 29th, 2011

CBRC's Erg-a-thon is all about NO PAIN, NO GAIN. How far can you row if there's money to be made for a new boat or perhaps new oars? The CBRC rowers find out each fall.Through donations per meter the junior's rowers set their own fundraising target, set their own equipment priority and raise donations the old fashioned way, THEY EARN IT!

Rock and Row, February 11, 2012

CBRC's Annual Rock and Row Auction is February 11 at the boathouse, celebrating the club's 20th Anniversary. Each year the boathouse is transformed into an elegant venue. There will be a wine grab, Gift Card "Face Value" table, Silent Auction, dessert dash and Live Auction with an auctioneer from the Stokes Auction Group. Dancing after the auction to DJ Alex Boer. There will be a no host bar and catered dinner.

We are looking for sponsors for tables and donations of unused auction items (gift cards, vacation homes, gift baskets, wine - $20+ value, rowing memorabilia, etc.).

Mark your calendars and come celebrate CBRC's 20 years.

Bob Magee Memorial Golf Tournament, June 22, 2011, Trophy Lake

The challenging and rewarding annual Bob Magee Memorial Golf Tornament is one of CBRC's most important fundraising events. The course at Trophy Lake is second to none. Supporters, parents and crew members gather for an afternoon of golf, barbeque and a silent auction. Our tournament is dedicated to the memory of our friend and supporter from the beginning, Bob Magee, and is generously sponsored by TOTE, Totem Ocean Trailer Express, Inc.
