The days are short, cold, and windy. It must be time for Winter Land Training. Winter is all about laying the foundation of endurance and strength needed to go FAST during the Spring Season. Every day we take off is a day someone else is getting better, faster, and stronger. Winter training at CBRC makes sure it's our opponents who are falling behind.

Season Overview:

Below you should find all of the information necessary for both new and returning rowers to begin participating in our Winter Training season. Rowers new to the sport are welcome to start participating in winter training and to join in the regular spring season which will start in February. Winter Training will consist of a variety of indoor work including: rowing machines, weights, yoga, mobility, circuit exercises, and various cross-training. All practices are supervised and led by CBRC coaches.

This winter we are offering choices for you. You can come and work out 4 days a week. The other option will be 2 days per week. Coxswains who participate are expected to register under the 2 days per week.

Practice Calendar:

The High School Squad will train from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM Monday - Thursday. Athletes can expect additional optional Friday training sessions.

The Middle School Squad will practice Monday and Wednesday from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM.

  • Practices begin - Monday, November 12, 2018
  • Practices end - Thursday, January 30, 2019

Winter Competition Schedule:

  • NW Ergonmania - Indoor Rowing Championships - Date: Sat., January 26th.

* This event is advised for those looking to pursue rowing beyond CBRC

The participation fees for Junior Winter Training are:

  • 2 days a week: $220.00 (advised for Middle School or those playing another sport)
  • 4 days a week: $275.00 (advised for High School athletes wanting to compete in the Spring)

*Entry to NW Ergomania Indoor Rowing Championships are not included in these fees.

Participation Requirements:

Each rower is required to register online before participating in a rowing season. Athletes will also need to have an active USRowing championship membership to complete registration with CBRC.

  • Membership is $45.00.
  • Membership is good for one year from month of purchase.

Team Clothing:

There is no team clothing requirement for winter training.
