Spring 2019

Junior Spring 2019 Rowing

Below you should find all of the information necessary for both new and returning rowers to begin participating in our Spring season. Rowers new to the sport are welcome to join participating in this spring season. All practices are supervised and led by CBRC coaches.

Welcome!

The spring is an exciting time to both learn to row and compete in regattas! While we start the season with the gray weather and short days of winter in February we get to row through the bloom of spring in May; experiencing truly gorgeous days out on the water. Unlike the fall season, spring rowing is all about going fast with athletes competing in sprint races ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 meters in length.

All athletes are expected to be at practice Monday through Friday, 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. On occasion, morning or weekend practices may be scheduled for specific training needs. Athletes should prearrange absences with their coach before noon on the day they will be missing practice.

For more complete information please view our 2019 Spring Parent Packet.

Practice Schedule:

The High School Varsity (one or more years of rowing) and Novice Squad (first year rowers) will practice from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM Monday - Friday. Varsity indicates high schoolers with one completed fall and spring season. Novice incidates high schoolers with less than one year of rowing experience.

  • Practices begin - Monday, Febuary 4th, 2019
  • Practices end - Monday, May 20th, 2019

The Middle School Squad will practice Monday's and Wednesday's from 5:45 PM - 7:15 PM. Middle school indicates a rower who is currently in 6th, 7th or 8th grade.
