Open Programs

  • Both high school and middle school athletes are invited to join us for spring season, during which we’ll be working on honing technique and laying down the aerobic and strength foundation needed to excel in spring and summer racing.

Although we start the season with the gray weather and short days of winter, we get to row through the bloom of spring; athletes experience truly gorgeous days out on the water. Unlike the fall season, spring rowing is all about going fast for short distances, with athletes competing in sprint races ranging from 1,000 to 2,000 meters in length.

Practices generally include warm-up and mobility work on land, followed by on-the-water technical and aerobic training work in both singles and team boats.

Athlete safety is our number one priority. Rowers are always accompanied by trained, USRowing-authorized coaches in launches (motorized boats).

    Schedule

    Practices
High School: Monday through Friday, 4-6 pm

Participation in regattas is included in the season fee, but travel and accommodation for multi-day, overnight regattas is not included, however, financial assistance may be available for athletes who qualify.
